Ms. Lauren

Speech Language Pathologist

Ms. Lauren was born and raised in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Her passion for helping special
needs began when she became a caretaker for a young boy with Down Syndrome.

Ever since then, she sought opportunities to work with children with special needs. Her experience has included several mentorship programs, such as teaching kids with physical and cognitive disabilities how to swim. She then worked as the pool programmer for Camp Merrywood-Easter Seals, a camp designed to be accessible for children with a wide variety of conditions—such as muscular dystrophy, cerebral palsy, and spina bifida. Her favorite part was engaging children and discovering ways to help them communicate.

Ms. Lauren discovered the field of speech language pathology through her mother, who is an occupational therapist. She then moved to Ruston, Louisiana where she earned her bachelor’s degree in speech language pathology at Louisiana Tech University (LTU). She pursued her master’s degree in Lafayette, Louisiana at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette (ULL).
